Hate Messages Plastered on Lamp Posts and Bus Stops

Ongoing Spate of Hate Incidents in Medway
This latest report follows earlier offenses dating back to September. On 5 September, someone noticed similar offensive stickers around Henry Street. Then, on 8 September, more hateful messages appeared on lampposts in Reform Road, sparking community fears.
Police Crack Down, Urge Public to Report Hate Crimes
Officers have launched a full investigation to track down the culprits. They are also speaking with local residents to offer reassurance. Chief Inspector Shona Lowndes, Medway District Commander, said:
“Placing offensive messages on street furniture is not acceptable and can cause a lot of upset to people going about their everyday lives. These messages stir anxiety and fear, and it’s a racially aggravated criminal offence. This kind of hate crime is serious and harms the entire community.”
“We urge anyone offended by these stickers to report them to Kent Police. If you have any information about who is responsible, please come forward. Do not try to remove the stickers yourself.”
