Violent Football Brawl Erupts in Southampton
Chaos hit Southampton on Saturday evening as rival fans clashed violently after the Southampton vs Tottenham match. Around 6.05pm on March 18, police were rushed to Terminus Terrace, near Oxford Street, following reports of a major disorder involving supporters from both teams.
Tables, Chairs, and Glasses Thrown During Mayhem
Eyewitnesses described a brutal scene with furniture and glasses flying, and a 61-year-old man from Bursledon seriously assaulted. The victim suffered facial injuries and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
“This would have been a frightening experience for those who witnessed this incident. Many people enjoying a Saturday night suddenly found themselves in the middle of violence,” said Detective Inspector Tim Judd.
“We believe those involved were leaving St Mary’s Stadium after the game when the disorder broke out.”

Ten Arrested, Police Hunt for More Witnesses
- Four men from Waltham Cross aged 22, 23, 25, and 27
- One 19-year-old from Haringey
- One 33-year-old man (location unspecified)
- One 24-year-old from Hoddesdon
- One 24-year-old from King’s Lynn
- One 19-year-old from Southampton
- One 31-year-old from Bournemouth
All ten suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into the violent disorder.
