Brutal Attack in Mount Pleasant Road: Man in His 20s Hospitalised After Assault
Violent Mugging on Saturday Night
On the evening of Saturday, 5 February 2022, a man in his 20s was violently attacked while walking along Mount Pleasant Road. At around 8.50pm, two men reportedly rushed up to him and launched a savage punch. The assault continued even after the victim fell to the ground.
Victim Taken to Hospital with Facial Injuries
The victim was rushed to hospital suffering from facial injuries and bruises. His attackers fled the scene when passers-by intervened.
Police Seek Witnesses as Two Arrests Made
PC Lily Mackay, leading the investigation, said: “We understand the suspects fled after members of the public stepped in. We urge anyone who saw the attack but hasn’t spoken to police yet to come forward.”
Two 22-year-old men were arrested on Monday, 7 February, on suspicion of assault. They have since been bailed to return to the police station on 6 March.
