Taxi Driver Attacked and Forced to Stop After Passenger Assaults Him

Violence Erupts in Kent Taxi

On Saturday 2 October 2021, trouble kicked off on St John’s Road. A taxi heading towards Southborough with four passengers on board suddenly went off course.

At around 7pm, one of the rear seat passengers allegedly lunged forward and attacked the driver. The blow caused the cab to swerve onto the pavement near Culverden Down.

Driver Punched Before Passengers Flee

The shaken driver, a man in his 20s, pulled over and got out. But the violence didn’t stop there. The same passenger approached and delivered a punch before all four passengers stormed off on foot.

Police Hunt Suspect

  • Suspect: White male, late 20s
  • Appearance: Collar-length brown hair
  • Clothing: Grey top, blue jeans, black bomber jacket

Police Sgt Jonathan Hannan appealed for help: “We are examining CCTV and want anyone with info to come forward.”
