Tragedy on the Road: Two Young Men Die in Horrific Cowes Crash
Fatal Collision Shuts Down Roads
Police raced to the scene just after 1.10pm after a serious crash involving a silver Honda Civic and a silver Toyota Proace van on the roads near Cowes.
Sadly, the two men in their 20s inside the Honda Civic were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Cowes. Their families have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 40s from Newport, suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Investigation Underway
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services carried out enquiries. Senior Investigating Officer Police Sergeant Jamie Barron said:
“This is a tragic incident in which two young men have sadly lost their lives. An investigation is already underway to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the incident.
Our enquiries remain ongoing at this time.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Barron continued:
“We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the moments before.
