Four Arrested After Camden BBQ Shootout
Police have arrested four suspects following a shocking shooting at a Camden BBQ last weekend. On Thursday, 19 August, a 22-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent.
Three Others Nabbed Days Earlier
- 18 August: Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested. The 16-year-old faces charges of possession of an offensive weapon, robbery, and possession of a firearm with intent. The 17-year-old was arrested for possession with intent to supply and firearm possession with intent.
- 17 August: Another 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent.
All four suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
Gunshots Fired Into Crowd at Camden BBQ
The terrifying incident unfolded shortly before 10:10pm on Saturday, 14 August, at a BBQ in Clarence Gardens, NW1. Up to five unknown males arrived and fired shots indiscriminately into a crowded communal space, injuring four people.
Emergency services, including firearms officers and paramedics, rushed to the scene. Victims included a 17-year-old girl, two women aged 19 and 73, and a 28-year-old man. While one victim has been discharged, the other three remain in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police Call for Witnesses
“I need to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in and around Clarence Gardens, NW1,” said Detective Sergeant Val John-Baptiste from the Specialist Crime North team. “Every shooting in London is a serious concern. We urge anyone with information to come forward, either directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
