Tragic Dog Attack Claims Life of 10-Year-Old Boy in Caerphilly

Emergency services raced to a home in Pentwyn, Penyrhoel, Caerphilly at around 3.55pm on Monday, 8 November, following reports of a devastating dog attack.

Paramedics Unable to Save Boy at the Scene

Specially-trained firearms officers and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service arrived quickly. Sadly, they confirmed the death of a 10-year-old boy at the scene.

Dangerous Dog Shot Dead

Firearms officers had no choice but to destroy the dog. Authorities confirmed no other animals were involved in the attack.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Chief Superintendent Mark Hobrough said: “Officers will be making further enquiries at this time and will remain at the scene as the investigation progresses.

“You may see ongoing police activity in Caerphilly as part of this work. Earlier today, you might have noticed an increased police presence. Please do not be alarmed.

“If you have concerns or information then please do stop and talk with us.”
