Most Wanted Fugitive Nabbed at Lisbon Airport After Turkey Travel Fail
From Turkish Border Rejection to Cockpit Capture
Alex Male, a Weston-super-Mare criminal, was caught red-handed on Saturday (30 April) at Lisbon Airport. Turkish border police refused him entry hours earlier after spotting a dodgy document. No sooner had he landed from Turkey than Portuguese officers swooped.
Top Drug Dealer Brought Down
Male hit the headlines in January when the National Crime Agency added him to their Most Wanted list. He had vanished after being arrested by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SW ROCU) during the major Operation Venetic crackdown.
Known for peddling Class A drugs across the South West using the encrypted EncroChat platform, Male also stands accused of money laundering and plotting to get his hands on a firearm.
From Marbella to Portugal – The Run Ends
Before Portugal, Male was on the lam in Marbella, Spain. His capture is hailed as a smashing victory by law enforcement.
“Any arrest of a fugitive is a fantastic result, especially one recently added to our Most Wanted list. He is wanted in connection with dangerous crimes devastating our communities,” said a NCA spokesperson.
