Fatal Police Chase Crash on Commercial Road
Motorcycle Crashes During High-Speed Pursuit
At around 2.20am on Monday, March 20, a motorcycle carrying two riders smashed into railings on Commercial Road, E3. The bike was being chased by police after refusing to stop.
One Dead, One Injured After Collision
Despite urgent efforts by officers and paramedics, a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 29-year-old passenger was rushed to hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.
Independent Probe Launched Into Incident
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC will carry out a full independent investigation into the crash.
