Deadly Police Chase Ends in Tragedy on Commercial Road
High-Speed Police Pursuit Turns Fatal
In the early hours of Monday, 20 March, around 2.20am, a motorcycle carrying two riders crashed into railings on Commercial Road, E3. The bike was being chased by police after failing to stop.
One Man Killed, Another Hospitalised
Emergency teams rushed to the scene, but a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the site. A second rider, aged 29, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers are currently confirming next of kin have been informed.
Police Conduct Under Scrutiny
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. An independent investigation will be launched to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
