Crash Chaos on Quay Street as Car Smashes Into Flats
Part of Quay Street near the former Fareham Police Station was shut down this afternoon after a car careered into the wall of a block of flats close to Market Quay car park.
Quay Street Closed After Smash-Up
The crash forced the closure of the car park exit as emergency crews rushed to the scene. Firefighters used hydraulic cutters to slice off the roof of the Renault involved to free the driver, who complained of neck and back pain.
Driver Freed After Being Rammed From Behind
It’s understood the Renault was hit from behind by another vehicle. Hampshire Fire crews were called at 2.30pm following reports of a collision involving two private cars on Quay Street.
The swift action by firefighters ensured the area was made safe and traffic disruption was kept to a minimum.
