A fierce fire ripped through an outbuilding on Church Hill Road North, Cheam, early Saturday morning, May 4. Emergency services sprang into action after the London Fire Brigade (LFB) received 16 frantic calls from residents, the first alert coming in at 8:55 am.
Firefighters Race to Scene
Crews from Sutton, Mitcham, New Malden, and nearby fire stations battled the blaze. By 10:18 am, the fire was under control. But the relief was shattered when police confirmed a fatality at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
