Teen Targeted in Shocking E-Scooter Robbery Attempt in Margate

Kent Police are hunting witnesses after a teenage boy was nearly robbed while riding his e-scooter in Margate on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Taser-Like Weapon Brandished in Broad Daylight

The drama unfolded around 7:00 PM on Approach Road, near the junction with Lower Northdown Avenue. The teen was heading towards Northdown Park Road when another boy on an e-scooter pulled up and launched an attack, trying to snatch the victim’s scooter.

The attacker pulled out what witnesses described as a weapon resembling a taser, attempting to scare the victim into submission. Luckily, a passing woman stepped in just in time, forcing the would-be thief to flee empty-handed.

The young victim escaped without injury but was left rattled by the ordeal.

Kent Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detectives are on the case and eager to speak to anyone who saw the confrontation — especially the brave woman who intervened.

“This was a frightening incident for the victim, and we are determined to identify the person responsible,”

Authorities are also asking for any CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the attack.
