Man Poses as TV Producer to Film Nude ‘Challenges’ in Fake Game Show Scam

Victims Lured with Promise of £5,000 Prize

In June 2018, a 28-year-old man told police he’d been approached by a 29-year-old claiming to work in entertainment. The suspect promised a spot on a fake game show with a £5,000 cash prize.

The victim was taken to a hotel in Newham and forced to complete several nude “challenges” on camera. The suspect kept the footage, thought to be for his own gratification.

Another Victim Comes Forward from 2013

A second man, aged 31, came forward on 2 February 2020. He said the same suspect coerced him in August 2013 to attend a hotel in south east London for similar activities.

Police Arrest and Appeal for More Victims

Officers arrested the 29-year-old on 30 January 2019 for suspicion of voyeurism. He was later released under investigation.

Sergeant James Mason, Met Police: “We believe there may be more victims. Anyone who has experienced similar crimes from 2013 to today should come forward. It’s vital we investigate and support those affected.”
