Police Hunt Robbers Who Targeted Woman in South Belfast

Police want your help after a brazen robbery in south Belfast on Monday, 2nd January.

Victim Attacked Twice in Shocking Hold-Up

Between 8:20pm and 8:30pm, a woman in her 50s was first confronted by two men demanding her wallet and phone. She tried to escape by crossing the road, but the attackers chased her down, with one pushing her against a wall.

Thieves Make Off with Valuables Near Ormeau Road

The pair then fled on foot towards Ormeau Road, making off with the woman’s phone, wallet containing bank cards, and a sum of cash.

Police Description of Suspects

  • Man 1: In his 30s, wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, and red trainers.
  • Man 2: In his 40s, dark hair, sporting a jacket, grey trousers, and black trainers.

Sergeant Rooney said: “Enquiries are ongoing, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Witnesses or anyone with tips are urged to report to police immediately.
