Knife-Wielding Robber Fails to Heist Tower Hamlets Newsagent
Police are on the hunt after a brazen armed robbery attempt at a Tower Hamlets newsagent in the early hours of Tuesday, 18 June.
Suspect Threatens Staff with Knife
A lone male suspect stormed into a Roman Road store in London’s E2 around 6am, brandishing a knife to intimidate staff and demand cash. But his plan quickly unravelled.
A quick-thinking member of staff, a man in his mid-30s, confronted the intruder. A struggle broke out, forcing the would-be thief to flee empty-handed. The staff member sustained minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
No arrests have been made yet. Detectives are scouring CCTV footage and chasing multiple leads. They’ve also noted that video of the incident is already circulating on social media.
