Tragedy in Thamesmead: Man Killed as Car Overturns in Early Morning Smash

Police are hunting witnesses after a fatal crash in Thamesmead left one man dead and two injured. The horror unfolded just after 5am on Saturday, 29 February, at the Western Way roundabout, where a blue Ford Focus ST flipped over.

Single-Car Crash Leaves One Dead

Officers were scrambled to the scene at Western Way’s junction with Central Way. Early investigations suggest no other vehicles were involved in the smash.

London Ambulance Service rushed to the site, but one man, thought to be in his 20s, was sadly pronounced dead on scene. Two other men, also in their 20s, were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Road Closures and Ongoing Enquiries

Western Way remains shut at the junction while officers continue their investigations. No arrests have been made, and police are focused on piecing together how the tragedy unfolded.
