Teen Hit on Zebra Crossing in Shocking Crash with Audi

Just after 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 April, chaos hit the junction of Manor Avenue and Ruskin Drive. A 13-year-old boy on his bike collided with a black Audi A3 on the zebra crossing.

Emergency Rush as Boy Taken to Hospital

Emergency services rushed to the scene. The youngster suffered a head injury but was later discharged from hospital. His condition is now stable.

Driver Arrested but Released Pending Investigation

A 26-year-old man caught at the scene was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Clips

PC Matt Leigh of GMP’s Road Policing Unit said: “We wish the boy a full recovery. Anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage should come forward immediately.”
