Microwave Madness! Moped Thugs Smash Windscreen in Shocking Gainsborough Attack
Late on Saturday night, a blue Ford Fiesta driver faced a bizarre and terrifying assault on Heapham Road, Gainsborough. Just before 11pm, as a moped carrying two riders zoomed past, the pillion passenger hurled a microwave straight at the car’s windscreen.
The kitchen appliance smashed into the glass, shattering it and spraying shards inside the vehicle. The driver was injured but, thankfully, not seriously.
Wave of Vehicle Vandalism Hits Gainsborough Streets
This incident isn’t isolated. Police have reported several attacks on cars around Gainsborough in recent days, including damage on Corringham Road, Garfield Street, and Forster Street.
Witnesses say the same moped team is behind these rampages. Horrifyingly, they’ve been seen using a goal post and even an axe to wreck cars across the town.
Police Launch Hunt, Plea for Witnesses
“We are taking these crimes seriously,” said Superintendent Phil Baker from West Division. “The microwave attack is particularly alarming. We have extra officers on the case to find those responsible.”
“No one was seriously hurt this time, but it could have been much worse. We urge the community to come forward—anonymously if needed—and help us bring these criminals to justice.”
