Horror Crash Closes A34 Northbound: Four Dead, Dozens Injured
Police shut down the A34 northbound after a devastating crash involving four lorries, a van, and two cars just after 5pm tonight. Emergency services rushed to the scene, including police, fire, ambulance, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Four Dead in Single Vehicle
Tragically, four people died at the scene, all believed to be occupants of one vehicle. Another 12 people sustained injuries in the smash and were treated at the scene or rushed to hospital.
Major Emergency Response Underway
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed they deployed three ambulance crews, three ambulance officers, and specialist hazardous area response teams. The air ambulance was scrambled to assist with the serious incident.
Police Urge Drivers to Avoid A34
“Officers are currently on the scene responding to this fatal collision. All motorists should avoid the area and seek alternative routes,” said Thames Valley Police inspector Andy Storey. “Please be patient while we deal with this incident.”
Inspector Storey added: “We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, including those travelling southbound who saw anything significant, to contact police.”
