Police Dog Skye Sniffs Out Burglars at Warminster Lidl
Three suspected burglars have been arrested after a daring early-morning break-in at a Lidl in Warminster. Thanks to the sharp nose of police dog Skye, officers quickly tracked down the suspects and recovered stolen goods.
Alarm Triggers 2am Police Raid
At around 2am on February 13, police rushed to Lidl on Station Road following an alarm activation. Intruders had smashed in and made off with food and alcohol.
Skye’s Sniff Leads to Triple Arrest
Joined by her handler, Skye was sent to scour the area. As they investigated, another alarm blared nearby. Skye zeroed in on the sound and found voices close by.
- Two suspects, aged 15 and 16, were caught hiding in a hedge with rucksacks stuffed with stolen booze.
- Skye then tracked down a third suspect concealed in another hedge, along with more stolen items.
Suspects in Custody as Investigation Continues
All three youths were promptly arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to Gablecross police station. They remain in custody while inquiries are ongoing.
