Slough Stab Spree: Stop and Search Extended After Teen Attacked

A Section 60 stop and search order in Slough has been extended for another 24 hours following a stabbing incident.

The order was first imposed on 21 October after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed around 3.30pm on Station Road. He sustained injuries but the situation remains under investigation.

What Is Section 60?

The Section 60 order covers key areas including Langley and parts of Slough, allowing police to stop and search anyone without suspicion. It was initially set to expire but will now remain active until 10am on 23 October.

Police Promise Increased Patrols

Deputy LPA Commander Chief Inspector Lee Barnham said:

“We have extended this Section 60 order for 24 hours and will keep it under review to decide whether it is necessary to remain in place beyond 10am tomorrow.

“There will be a continued increased presence of uniformed police officers in these areas to provide reassurance.

“Putting Section 60 orders in place is not something we do every day, and we do not take decisions to do so lightly.

“These orders exist to help the police prevent serious violence. Although this may sound concerning, the Section 60 is just one of many measures we can use in order to prevent incidents of violence.”

Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity as officers step up efforts to keep Slough safe amid rising concerns over knife crime.
