Two Arrested After Gunshots Fired at Southampton Homes
Police have swooped on two men suspected of conspiracy to murder after homes on Carnation Road were targeted by gunfire—twice in one week.
Two Shots Fired, Door Damaged
The first terrifying incident happened around 10pm on Thursday, 22 October. Two gunshots struck a home, damaging the front door. Officers quickly launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV and appealing to drivers with dashcams who were on Carnation Road or Stoneham Lane that evening.
Second Shooting Rocks Same Street
Just a week later, on Thursday 29 October, police received another report of gunshots fired at a different house on Carnation Road. Thankfully, no one was injured in either attack.
Arrests Made as Police Crack Down
In the early hours of Saturday 31 October, a 56-year-old Southampton man and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Both have been questioned and released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
Police Urge Locals to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Howard Broadribb said: “We want to hear from anyone in the Carnation Road area on the evenings of 22 and 29 October, especially those with private CCTV.”
“Drivers with dashcams on Carnation Road, Stoneham Lane, or Bassett 1 Road on these dates—please check your footage. You might hold the vital clue.”
“We understand local residents are worried. We’ve increased patrols and will keep pursuing every lead.”
