Bexhill Vodafone Store Hit in Brazen Daytime Robbery
A gang of four men pulled off a daring midday heist at the Vodafone store on Devonshire Road, Bexhill, making off with tens of thousands of pounds worth of electronics.
Masked Gang Storm Store and Threaten Staff
The robbery took place around 12:45pm on Monday, 19 May. The suspects, dressed head to toe in dark clothing, stormed the shop. One wore a surgical mask, while the others hid behind balaclavas. They threatened staff with large duffle bags before grabbing high-value stock and fleeing.
Escape on Foot, Then Getaway Vehicle Near Seafront
The gang reportedly ran off via Canteloupe Road and Brassey Road. They made their getaway in a waiting vehicle near the seafront.
Police were quick to respond, supporting shaken staff and sealing off the scene for forensic investigations.
Man Arrested, Police Hunt for More Witnesses
A 37-year-old man from Greenwich has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and later bailed pending further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Simon Yates said: “We are investigating this robbery and are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry. It took place in Bexhill town centre at lunchtime, and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.”
Police Urge Public to Share Footage
Sussex Police are hunting for mobile phone footage, dashcam clips, and CCTV from the area to help crack the case.
