Pizza Joint Burgled in Dead of Night

Police swooped on Planet Pizza in Calverton after burglars smashed their way in at 2.15am on Monday, 8 May.

Thieves broke the front door, grabbing a tips jar and the till before vanishing into the night.

Suspects Caught Thanks to Quick Police Work

Officers launched house-to-house inquiries and scoured CCTV footage. Their efforts paid off when two men, aged 49 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Neighbourhood Inspector Speaks Out

“Any burglary, whether on a home or business, is an invasive and unpleasant crime which we take very seriously,” said Inspector Mark Stanley.

“Break-ins hit businesses hard — both financially and emotionally for the hardworking staff affected.

“No one should find their place smashed into. We have dedicated teams focused on stopping these crimes and bringing suspects to justice fast.

“I’m pleased we acted quickly to arrest two suspects, but the investigation is ongoing.
