Derelict Building Goes Up in Flames in Mansfield – Police Hunt Woman in CCTV Snap

Flames tore through an abandoned building on Newcastle Street, Mansfield, just after 1.45am on 17 October 2022. The early morning blaze left the unused property badly damaged, sparking a joint police and fire service probe.

Deliberate Fire Suspected – Investigation Underway

Authorities now believe the fire was started deliberately. Nottinghamshire Police and the fire brigade are working together to track down those responsible for the arson.

Police Release CCTV Image of Key Witness

Officers have unveiled a CCTV image of a woman they believe holds crucial information about the fire. PC Abigail 1 urged anyone who recognises her to come forward.

“We have reasons to believe this fire was started on purpose, so we are determined to find whoever was responsible,” said PC Abigail.

“Arson is an incredibly serious and dangerous offence, which can ruin or even end the lives of anyone unfortunate to be caught up in it.”

“We believe the woman in this picture could have valuable information about what happened, so we would naturally like to speak to her as soon as possible.”
