Police Launch Manhunt After Suspicious Black BMW Approaches Women in Portsmouth

Police are hunting a driver after two women were approached in the early hours in Portsmouth. The suspect, believed to be behind the wheel of a black BMW, startled the women but left them unharmed.

Two Scary Encounters in Portsmouth

  • First incident: Sunday, March 19 at around 4am on 1 Road. A 22-year-old woman was approached by a man in the black car.
  • Second incident: Tuesday, March 21 at around 3am on Burnaby Road. A 20-year-old woman was approached in a similar manner.

Police Urge Caution, Boost Patrols

“While incidents like these can cause alarm, we’re following multiple leads and increasing patrols in the area,” said Detective Inspector Linda Howard. “We remind anyone out late to take precautions—stick to well-lit streets, travel with friends, and use public transport or taxis when possible. If you spot anything suspicious, report it immediately.”
