Police have named the man found dead at a house on Westridge Road, Southampton, on Friday afternoon. He was Michael Freshwater, 49, a dad-of-four originally from London but living in Swaythling.
Stabbed in Broad Daylight
Michael was discovered just after 4.15pm on April 29. Following a post-mortem, officers confirmed he died from a stab wound. The police cordon at the scene remains but has been reduced as investigations continue.
Heartbroken Partner Pays Tribute
Michael’s partner, Jenny Downey, expressed her grief. She said: “My life will never be the same. We had a special kind of love. He was not just my partner but my best friend, my rock, and the absolute love of my life.”
She added: “I’m left with the biggest black hole in my heart. Micky was a wonderful soul, happy-go-lucky, with a heart of gold who would help anyone out. He was one of a kind — a truly amazing soul, a friend to many, a brother, a son, and a wonderful father. Micky was my world, and I’m absolutely heartbroken. Goodnight my Micky, I will always love you.”
