Attempted Phone Snatch Ends in Assault in Canterbury

Police are hunting for witnesses after a man was attacked in an attempted robbery in Canterbury in the early hours of Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Victim Attacked After Resisting Phone Theft

Around 1:30 a.m., a man was walking along Stour Street, glued to his phone, when another man tried to snatch it. The victim fought back, sparking a violent assault. The attacker fled empty-handed.

Victim Hospitalised but Now Discharged

Emergency services rushed to the scene near the junction of Stour Street and Hospital Lane. The victim suffered head and arm injuries and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

Police Call for Witnesses to Come Forward
