The grim incident happened just after 1pm on Tuesday, July 2. The elderly victim was patiently letting women and children board the 220 bus first. But this small act of kindness enraged a man behind him.
The suspect launched a verbal tirade before shoving the pensioner hard. The man crashed to the ground, suffering a broken hip and needing hospital treatment.
Police Release Image, Ask Public for Help
Met Police have issued an image of the suspect and want to hear from anyone who recognises him. Officers urge witnesses to call 101 or tweet @MetCC with reference 01/545400/24.
