Drama at Portsmouth’s Round Tower as Police Save Young Man from Edge

Last night, officers acted fast to talk down a man in his 20s perched dangerously on the edge of Portsmouth’s historic Round Tower. Concerned residents alerted police at 5.40pm after spotting the man in distress at the iconic Old Portsmouth landmark.

Police Step In to Prevent Tragedy

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended the scene promptly. The man was persuaded to step away from the ledge safely and was taken to a mental health facility for support.”
