Police Cordon Tight at Primrose Hill After Teen Girl Rape Report
London’s Primrose Hill remains sealed off by police after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the park late on Friday night.
The victim flagged down Metropolitan Police officers on patrol just before 11pm on Friday, 11 April, on Regents Park Road. She claimed she had been attacked in the park and was rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Specialist officers trained in supporting sexual violence victims are now assisting her.
Major Crime Scene Still in Place
As of Sunday 13 April, the scene remains active with a large police cordon around parts of Primrose Hill. At least a dozen officers have been spotted scouring the area. Images from local group @PrimroseWatch show extensive police tape and officers combing the park for evidence.
The Met Police confirmed no arrests have been made yet, but inquiries continue. Forensic teams are meticulously investigating the area, while police urgently appeal to anyone with information or who witnessed anything to come forward.
Attack Hits First Night of New Park Closures
The incident coincided with the first night that Royal Parks enforced new weekend night closures at Primrose Hill. The park now shuts from 10pm to 6am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, aiming to crack down on anti-social behaviour. It remains open 24/7 during weekdays.
Royal Parks has been approached for comment on the attack and ongoing safety concerns.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“This is a deeply concerning report and we are doing everything possible to support the victim and find the person responsible,” said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police.
“We ask anyone who was in the Primrose Hill or Regents Park Road area between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Friday night to contact us.”
