Kent Police’s Tactical Operations Unit spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving a layby on the A2 near Canterbury at 1.45am on Friday, 21 October 2022.

Chase Ends with Big Fuel Seizure

Officers tailed the vehicle and stopped it near Shepherdswell. Inside, they found a large haul of fuel believed to be stolen, along with hosepipes and canisters.

Two Men Arrested Over Theft

Two men, aged 29 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of theft and taken into custody.

Police Link Fuel to Earlier Lorry Theft

At 2.05am, police received a report that diesel had been siphoned from a lorry parked in a layby near Barham earlier that night.

Enquiries are ongoing to confirm if the seized fuel matches the stolen diesel.
