Ram Raid Shatters Walton-on-Thames Jewellers on Black Friday Eve

A shocking ram raid ripped through Fleur Jewellers in Walton-on-Thames late on the eve of Black Friday. Thieves smashed the shopfront with a vehicle, grabbing precious valuables before speeding off and leaving chaos behind.

Eyewitnesses Describe Brazen Smash-and-Grab

The raid, thought to be linked to a similar heist in nearby Kingston, was caught by stunned locals. Witnesses say the gang drove straight into the shop, stormed inside wearing masks, and filled their bags with loot. They then fled in a getaway car with no number plates, vanishing fast.

“Someone I know saw it happen. They got out, masked up, stole loads of items, and then a getaway car with no plates pulled up and drove off,” one eyewitness revealed.

Heavy Police Presence and Community Outrage

Surrey Police lined the crime scene, cordoning off the area as detectives combed through CCTV footage for clues. The smashed vehicle was seized for investigation.

Local residents expressed shock and sympathy for the devastated shop owner, especially at this critical sales time for the independent jeweller.

  • “This is awful. I feel very sad for the lady whose shop it is,” said one neighbour.
  • Another sarcastically remarked, “Welcome to Walton.”
  • Some joked, “Takes window shopping to a whole new level.”

Devastating Blow for Local Business

Fleur Jewellers, a treasured independent business, now faces the nightmare of costly repairs and stolen stock losses. The raid has struck fear into local traders and highlighted mounting worries about opportunistic holiday thefts.
