McGregor Logistics Enters Administration After Financial Warnings
Doncaster-based haulage giant McGregor Logistics has officially gone into administration, nearly a month after flagging serious financial troubles. Insolvency firm Forvis Mazars has stepped in to manage the business through this rocky patch.
20 Years of Growth Comes to a Halt
Founded two decades ago, McGregor Logistics grew into a key player in the UK haulage game. The company operated out of multiple hubs including Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Peterborough, and Tilbury. Its diverse fleet featured curtain-sided, refrigerated, and low-loader trailers, handling everything from general logistics to targeted warehousing services.
McGregor made a name for itself in sustainable transport by specialising in moving biomass and renewable energy products. The company also expanded its footprint in recent years by leasing large warehouse space at St. Modwen Park.
Jobs at Risk as Future Hangs in the Balance
The business employed around 145 staffers according to its latest accounts. Now those jobs are in jeopardy as administrators evaluate the firm’s assets and debts. This latest development echoes broader struggles in the transport and logistics world, hit hard by soaring operational costs and tough economic conditions.
So far, Forvis Mazars has stayed tight-lipped on whether McGregor Logistics will be saved or broken up.
