Emergency Teams Rush to River Medway
A major rescue mission at the River Medway in Maidstone has heartbreakingly shifted to a recovery operation. Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue, paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance, and police were scrambled just after 5pm on Friday following reports that someone had entered the water.
Police Seal Off Scene
Kent Police swiftly cordoned off a 55-metre stretch of the river, pushing bystanders away and securing the area. Officers were seen bagging clothing from a nearby bench as potential evidence while searches continue.
Search and Rescue Volunteers Join Effort
Volunteers from KENTSAR Search and Rescue have been called in to assist with the grim task of recovering the person or body from the water.
