Shameless Thieves Smash Into Widley Church and Steal Poppy Collection Cash
Callous crooks targeted Christ Church Portsdown in Widley, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage while stealing funds raised for the Poppy Appeal. The break-in happened sometime overnight between 4pm Friday and 8.55am Saturday on London Road.
Front Doors Smashed to Loot Charity Tins
Detectives confirm the burglars forced open the church’s front doors, leaving them damaged. Once inside, they ransacked the building, ripping open and stealing all the cash from Royal British Legion collection tins and a wall-mounted donation box.
