A 52-year-old security guard was brutally stabbed to death inside Centre MK shopping centre in Milton Keynes. Police have arrested a 50-year-old man from Towcester on suspicion of murder.

Tragic Stabbing Shocks Centre MK

Emergency services rushed to Centre MK yesterday evening after reports of a stabbing. Paramedics fought desperately to save the victim’s life but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been named locally as Gary Stanley, a much-loved security guard known for his dedication and kindness on the job.

Friends and colleagues took to social media to honour Gary’s memory. One mourner said, “Gary was murdered while doing his job yesterday, protecting others. Taken in an instant.”

“Gary was a gentle giant. A man who worked hard, loved deeply, and would help anyone without hesitation.”

Another added: “Rest in peace to a valued member of our Milton Keynes community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone affected. Tonight we light a candle in his memory. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.”

Gary leaves behind his wife, son, and two grandchildren.

Police Arrest Suspect, Investigation Ongoing

A 50-year-old man from Towcester remains in custody, with police saying no one else is being sought in connection to the murder.

Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie said, “We are in the very early stages of this investigation but have made an arrest and are not currently looking for anyone else.”

“There is no known threat to the wider public. You may notice an increased police presence while we continue our inquiries. Please speak to uniformed officers if you have any concerns.”

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers. The coroner has been notified, but the victim awaits formal identification.
