Swindon Cops Crack Down on High-Risk Offenders
The Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team (LPTT) has scored a string of arrests in a fierce crackdown on crime. Launched in July, the team targets violence, drug dealing, and other major offenders across Swindon and surrounding areas.
October Blitz Nets Serious Charges
Throughout October, LPTT officers hit the streets hard, carrying out proactive patrols fueled by community tips. Their efforts snapped up suspects facing serious charges such as grievous bodily harm with intent, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and dangerous driving. They also nabbed a man wanted for multiple shoplifting offences.
Community Tips Help Police Keep Streets Safe
Detective Constable Will Saunders, leading Swindon’s LPTT, stressed the vital role of local intelligence. He said:
“Community intelligence is invaluable in helping us conduct our work. It guides our patrols and helps us address the issues that matter most to our residents.”
Wiltshire Police Push for Safer Streets
The operation supports Wiltshire Police’s mission to make public spaces safer and cut violence. DC Saunders urged locals to report issues on 101, backing the ongoing uniformed and undercover work targeting crime hotspots.
