Terrifying Crash Near Wimborne Leaves Woman Critically Injured
Officers are urgently appealing for witnesses after a serious road crash near Wimborne this morning. The smash happened around 10.30am on Sunday 12 March 2017 at Badbury Rings on the B3082 — right by the junction leading to Sturminster Marshall.
Head-on Collision Rocks Quiet Road
A silver Toyota Corolla, heading from Wimborne to Blandford, collided head-on with a blue Ford Focus travelling the other way. The impact left the drivers and passengers injured and emergency services scrambling.
One Airlifted with Life-Threatening Injuries
- The 85-year-old Toyota driver was rushed to Poole Hospital with slight injuries.
- A 64-year-old female passenger in the Toyota was taken to Salisbury Hospital, also with minor injuries.
- Tragically, the rear passenger — an 84-year-old woman from Trowbridge — was airlifted to Southampton Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Ford Occupants Hurt but Stable
The three occupants of the Ford Focus, all from Blandford — a 75-year-old man driving, a 72-year-old woman, and an 89-year-old man — were treated at Poole Hospital for slight injuries.
Emergency Services Swarm Crash Site
Firefighters, ambulance crews, and an air ambulance all rushed to the scene. Police are now keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that could help their investigation.
