Six Teens Arrested After Blaze Rips Through Derelict Portsmouth Pub
A fire investigation is underway following a blaze at a rundown pub in Portsmouth on Friday, June 3rd.
Smoke Sparks Major Fire Response
At 4.06pm, firefighters from Southsea and Cosham rushed to Milton Road after smoke was spotted billowing from the first floor of the abandoned building. Upon arrival, crews found smoke pouring from multiple areas and quickly called in police to manage nearby traffic chaos.
Firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, battled the flames using hose reels, high-pressure jets, and an aerial ladder platform. They also deployed positive pressure ventilation (PPV) to clear the thick smoke.
Investigation Leads to Six Arrests
The fire was brought under control by 5.09pm, allowing crews to pack up and head back to station. Hampshire Constabulary have since arrested six teenagers in connection with the blaze. Witnesses reported seeing the youths leaving the pub just before the fire broke out.
