Blazing Supermarket Roof Sparks Massive Fire Response in Beckton
Chaos hit Beckton early this morning as a supermarket on Tollgate Road went up in flames. Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines are battling the blaze, with part of the roof visibly alight.
Fire Crews Rush to Scene at Dawn
The London Fire Brigade was alerted at 4:05am. Crews from East Ham and nearby stations rushed to the supermarket, working furiously to contain the inferno.
Cause Unknown as Police Launch Investigation
The cause of the fire remains a mystery. Met Police officers have sealed off several areas in the store’s car park, probing the scene to uncover what sparked the blaze.
