Tragic Sheffield Crash Claims Life of Police Officer
A police motorcyclist died after a collision with a blue Toyota Avensis in Sheffield this afternoon. The crash happened around 1pm on Nether Lane, Ecclesfield, while the marked police bike was responding to reports of a silver BMW failing to stop for officers.
Officer Killed, Toyota Driver Injured
The 40-year-old police officer was sadly pronounced dead shortly after the collision. The Toyota’s 59-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and remains hospitalised.
Investigation Underway, Road Still Shut
Specialist officers are supporting both the officer’s family and the Toyota driver. The road is still closed, and drivers are urged to avoid the area as enquiries continue.
