Man Spotted Roaming Rooftop Sparks Fratton Lockdown

A tense stand-off unfolded on Sunday, June 13, when a man was seen wandering the roof of Collins Place in Fratton, Portsmouth at around 4.55pm.

Road Closures and Emergency Services Swarm the Scene

Hampshire Constabulary quickly sealed off the area, closing Victoria Road North towards Fratton Roundabout, which was also shut down to control the situation.

Firefighters from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue, along with South Central Ambulance Service crews, rushed to the scene to manage the incident.

Four Hours of Drama Before Calm Restored

The reason behind the man’s rooftop antics remains unknown. Officers maintained a strict cordon around Collins Place to keep the public safe throughout the drama.

After about four hours, the man finally came down and was taken into the care of emergency services.
