Drunken Rage Sparks Deadly Fire
Sonora state prosecutors revealed the suspect was a heavily intoxicated young man who had just been kicked out of the bar for disrespecting women. Furious, he returned carrying a Molotov cocktail and hurled it at the bar’s entrance, igniting the deadly blaze in the early hours of Saturday.
Victims Include Women and Teenager
The fire claimed eleven lives, including four women, one of whom was a US citizen with likely dual Mexican nationality. Among the dead was also a 17-year-old, making the tragedy even more heartbreaking. Four others were injured and are now receiving hospital treatment.
Suspect Arrested as Community Mourns
San Luis Rio Colorado’s mayor, Santos Gonzalez, confirmed police have arrested the suspect. State attorney general Gustavo Romulo Salas spoke at a press conference, sharing details of the vile attack that has shaken the community to its core.
