Shock Crash on A21 Near Wadhurst: Driver Flees Scene

Sussex Police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver after a serious early morning crash near Wadhurst.

Passenger Critically Injured After Car Hits Tree

At 3:17am on Monday, December 14, a car smashed into a tree south of the Flimwell crossroads on the A21 London Road. The vehicle’s passenger suffered critical injuries, with paramedics rushing to the scene.

The driver fled on foot and is being hunted by officers – backed up by a police helicopter – conducting a wide area search.

Police Describe Missing Driver

The suspect is described as slim, about 5’7”, with short blond hair. It’s unclear if he was injured in the crash.

A21 Shut for Hours, Police Ask for Witnesses

The A21 remains closed in both directions between the A268 and B2099 junctions. Authorities warn the road will stay shut for a substantial period.
