Bag snatchers nabbed in St Mary’s Island drama!

Medway Community Policing Team swooped on a 42-year-old woman and 40-year-old man from Chatham on suspicion of theft. The arrests came just under an hour after a report of a bag theft on Maritime Way, St Mary’s Island.
Victim’s bag pinched – then bank card used
The victim told cops she was approached by the duo before they snatched her bag from her vehicle. Her bank card was swiftly used at a nearby takeaway, raising alarms.
Suspects held in custody
Police acted fast, nabbing the suspects at 7:45pm on 24 March 2021. Both remain in custody while inquiries continue. More arrests could be on the horizon as detectives dig deeper.
