Tewkesbury School in Gloucestershire was rocked on Monday morning when a teenage boy allegedly stabbed a teacher. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of the attack surfaced around 9:10 am.
Armed Police Nab Suspect Within Hour
Armed police quickly swooped and arrested the boy just an hour later. A knife was seized from the scene. The motive behind the brutal assault remains a mystery. Thankfully, the injured teacher is now in stable condition after being hospitalised.
School Locked Down Amid Horror Incident
Tewkesbury School, located on Ashchurch Road, was placed in lockdown immediately to keep pupils and staff safe. Headteacher Kathleen McGillycuddy addressed the shaken school community, saying:
“We appreciate this morning has been a worrying time for all associated with Tewkesbury Academy. We were alerted shortly before 9 am this morning to reports of a serious incident which left a male member of staff in need of hospital treatment. The school was locked down, and the police were called immediately when we became aware of this incident.”
