Knife-wielding robbers strike in Lockheath park
A young mum was left terrified after being robbed by two teenagers brandishing a knife while walking with her toddler in Lockheath.
The incident happened just after 3pm on Sunday, 24th April, as the woman strolled home from a local play park with her 18-month-old son.
Thugs shout threats before snatching valuables
The pair, described as wearing hoodies, started shouting abuse at the little boy. When the mum ignored them, they pulled out a penknife and demanded her bag.
Fearing for her and her child’s safety, she handed over her wallet and phone. The robbers then fled the scene, laughing.
Mum left shaken but urges calm
“I think they were just chancing it and having what they thought was a laugh, but anyone would have been terrified, especially with their child present,” said the distraught mum, who wished to remain anonymous.
Police hunt knife-carrying crooks
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police confirmed they have launched an investigation.
A spokesperson urged witnesses or anyone with information to call 101 immediately.
