Over two days in late September, Maidstone’s Community Safety Unit hit the rural roads hard, targeting speeders and careless drivers.
Eight Caught Over 40mph in Headcorn
On 29 September, patrols zeroed in on Mill Bank, Headcorn. Eight drivers were nailed for breaking the 40mph limit. Another five faced stern warnings about their driving style.
More Speedsters Nabbed in East Farleigh
The next day, officers moved to East Farleigh’s Lower Road and Dean Street. They caught eight more drivers speeding, while three others were given advice for safer driving.
Police Warn: No Let Up on Speeding
Inspector Steve Kent said: “Following complaints from residents and other road users, we’ve carried out these checks to remind drivers of their duty to stick to speed limits and adapt to road conditions.”
“This two-day blitz isn’t a one-off. We will keep cracking down on speeding and dangerous driving—there’s zero tolerance here.”
